Vinegar, Borax and Ammonia __ When you have tough soap scum or dirt buildup on tile floors, you can return the shine by combining common household items to create a powerful cleaner. Reader's Digest suggests combining 1ǘ cup of white vinegar with 1ǘ cup of ammonia and 1ǚ cup of borax. Add 1 gallon of warm water to the ingredients and stir slightly to combine them well. Mop the tile floor with the cleaning solution, then rinse the floor well. Allow the floor to air_dry completely.
Floors__To make your finished ceramic tile surface appear symmetrical (even if it isn't), you need to find the center of the surface first. Then measure in from the sides. Pay special attention to this step if you're tiling a small area, where wide tiles at one edge and narrow ones at the other will make the whole job look out of balance.
